SMS verification is the step where a site asks for a phone number, texts it a four- or six-digit code, and refuses to open the account until you type the code back. From the service’s side the point is not to learn who you are; it is to establish that a person with a phone line is behind the signup rather than a script opening a thousand accounts. The numbers on this page do that job in place of yours, so the code lands in an inbox here instead of on your handset.

Free SMS verification means exactly that: nothing to pay, no account to open, nothing to install. What it does not mean is that the line is yours alone — and that distinction is the whole difference between using this page well and using it in a way that costs you something.

What a public verification inbox can do

This page lets you check SMS sent to shared numbers. The sender decides whether to accept a number and which verification method to offer. We do not have verified acceptance rates for individual services or sectors.

Messages are visible to other visitors. Use a number you control for banking, identity verification and account recovery. A paid number is not automatically eligible for every service either.
